October 19, 2016 – Guided Bird Watching Trip
LPPCHEA, Las Pinas

Mike Lu was invited by the DENR-NCR to give a talk on bird identification and monitoring. Mike focused on birds found within Metro Manila specially species in the Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA). The LPPCHEA guide book came in handy. At the latter half of the talk, Mike had the participants turn their backs as a volunteer describes what he sees on the screen. It was fun and it reinforces what they learned.

After the classroom session, Mike took out the participants to the LPPCHEA for on-site birdwatching. With the approaching weather disturbance, the winds were strong and there were few birds except terns trying to fly against the winds.
