2026 Philippine Bird Species Status. The generated quick numbers serve as a simplified guide for the better understanding of the presence of bird species in the country.
Endemics – bird species found only in the Philippines and nowhere else in the world. These birds constitute over 30% of the total bird species in the country
Migrants – birds that temporarily visit the Philippines from the Northern hemisphere during the winter migration season for food returning to their countries of origin in spring time for the breeding season. The Philippines being strategically located in the East Asian Australasian Flyway is a vital stop over for migratory birds during migration season.
Residents – bird species that are present in the Philippines but can also be seen in other Asian countries.
